I was told that that you have to plant peppers close together in a row for best results. Is this true. I have always planted 2 together, to hold each other up. I do not get very many peppers this way. What is the best way?
Actually if you crowd peppers too close together they won't do as well! Give them about 2 to 3 feet apart. Peppers are heavy feeders, use a water soluble tomato and vegetable fertilizer, and keep them well-watered but not soaking wet. They're sensitive to cold as well, so don't put them in the ground until after mid-May.
