Once established, these grasses will tolerate dry soils; however, it generally takes one full growing season for them to develop the strong, deep root system they'll need. When planting, add generous amounts of manure or compost to the site and water them regularly and deeply. By the second season they should be able tolerate dry conditions except through very long, hot spells. Don't forget the BONE MEAL when planting.
